About math problem solving
Ok, I know why your here. You want to know on what authority do I have to write such things about maths, teachers and tutors.Who am I? - Firstly, I'm not even a teacher (although I do have the minimum requirement to teach adults).
- Secondly, I'm not a mathematician (even though, as contradictory as it may sound, I have a Masters degree in maths).
- Thirdly, I am definitely not a techie (I am the least technical person you will find on this planet).
So, why and how am I writing this site about maths and teaching? Read all about it in my little secret What do I really do?
Now, I will tell you what I am and what I do to pass the time. I am Rakiya. I am 33 (at the time of writing this 2010), I live a muffled life. Married. I have 2 little kids (3 if you count my husband) that take up most of my time. When I am not entertaining them I am teaching maths and Arabic thajweed to adults and/or kids.
When I'm not entertaning my children and teaching, I am painting arabic calligraphy.
This picture is still in working progress. The pictures are also upside down, If you are Arabic you will already know that!

Above all else, I am a professional makeup artist and can make people look gorgeous (or hideous whatever the requirement takes).
I also paint intricate designer nails for special occasions.
Where do I come from?
I am originally bengali, which can mean one of 2 things, India or Bangladesh. I am Bangladeshi. I have the privelage of living in the UK. My grandfather jumped off the ships 50 odd years ago. My claim to fame
My grandfather opened up one of the very first Indian restaurant in the UK, most certainly the first in Merseyside. As desirable and fortunate restaurants and catering looks on the outside, the sheer hard work that goes into it forced my parents to educate us as highly as possible to keep us (my 4 other sisters) out of the industry. However, I did spend the first half of my life studying with books in one hand and serving customers with the other. That was enough to keep me out anyway! To your Math Problem Solving Solutions
