How to do advanced algebra
How to do advanced algebra can mean trying to explain 1 out of a million topics in algebra. From pythagoras to trigonometry to all the different topics in calculus.
As much as we would love to cover all these wonderful topics in algebra, they can easily be understood once some basic ground work in the knowledge of how to do algebra is explained.
There are basically 2 methods to understanding how to do advanced algebra. The conventional way, the way its taught in schools and the way real mathematicians would like it to be taught. And the unconventional way, the way tutors would like to teach it, to get the message across, with out schools and heads of departments breathing down necks.

I would just like to point out at the start that the conventional method is the correct method of explanation and should be the way to do it. However, it is hard to understand. The unconventional way is a little easier to understand (but is not mathematically correct - when is is explained).
So, with that out of the way, it is up to each individual to decide which method to use. It is also a good idea to see both methods incase paths cross at some point in life.
For example the conventional way was shown to me in some chemistry application (balancing chemical equations-in case you wanted to know) when I was at college.
The problem was, I had no idea what the professor was going on about as I was never taught the conventional method. It took a really long time to work it out.
