# Inverse Variation

The time taken to complete a school project is inversely proportional to the number of students involved.

A team of 5 students can complete the project in 6 weeks.

Suppose that 4 weeks into the project, one of the five students left the team.

The remaining students decide to continue with the project by themselves.

Calculate the number of days needed to complete the project in this case.

 Jun 30, 2011 Rating sudhanshu.cochin@gmail.com by: sudhanshu kumar The time taken to complete a school project is inversely proportional to the number of students involved. it means number of student* time = a constant here it is , 5*6 = 30 after 4 weeks, remaining works = 30 - 5*4 = 10 time = 10/4 = 2.5 week (only 4 students available) 2.5 * 7 = 17.5 days so, after 4 weeks, 17.5 days needed to complete the project.
